Day S1: Teachers get the summers “off”

People often mention that I’m lucky because I get the summers off as a teacher. Although that is mostly true, I don’t think the non-teacher realizes the crazy hours teachers put in during the school year that more than make up for the time off. Not to mention the fact that summers tend to be filled with curriculum writing (I’ve already done 10 hours of this), staff developments, training, etc. I thought I would continue my 180blog this summer to show what this teacher does with “all that time off.” This summer I’m getting trained to teach the AVID elective course at our school. This is a graph I found interesting while working on some e-tutorials:
