During our block time this week I created a little content based lesson and had students work with the question ¿De dónde es? and the phrases me gusta(n) me encanta(n) to discuss “old world” and “new world” foods. We talked about how certain foods didn’t exist in the Americas before Europeans came over and how some foods from the “Old World” foods are now big products in the Americas but are not indigenous to the continent (coffee, bananas, sugar).

After the lesson, students completed an exit ticket like this one:
